Nerdio Compass allows you to manage the snapshots of your Microsoft environment.
This procedure guides you through importing a new snapshot, comparing two snapshots side by side, and removing a snapshot you no longer need. Before you begin, make sure you have connected your Microsoft Azure account to Nerdio Compass.
-
In Nerdio Compass, navigate to Microsoft > Overview.
-
Select Actions > Import Snapshot.
Nerdio Compass creates a new snapshot and begins processing it.
-
Select the snapshot you just imported (listed first, most recent) from the snapshot selector at the top of the page.
The snapshot details panel displays the processing log, confirming successful ingestion, along with a summary of Microsoft Entra ID users, groups, and conditional access policies captured.
-
Select the snapshot trigger icon near the top of the Overview page.
A popover opens showing recent snapshots and snapshot management options.
-
Select View All Snapshots.
The Snapshots page opens, listing all snapshots in a table with columns for snapshot name, source, machines, inventory, status, import date, and actions.
-
Select the eye icon next to the snapshot you want to review.
The snapshot detail view opens, showing its source platform tag, status, import date, item count, processing duration, and operation ID.
-
Select the back navigation icon to return to the Snapshots list.
-
Select the delete icon next to the snapshot you want to remove.
A dialog opens titled Delete snapshot?, asking you to confirm permanent deletion of the named snapshot.
-
Select Delete to confirm.
A "Snapshot deleted" notification appears, and the snapshot is removed from the list.
-
Repeat the previous two steps for each additional snapshot you want to remove.
You have imported a Microsoft snapshot, reviewed its processing details and captured configuration summary, and removed any snapshots you no longer need. To continue managing your Microsoft environment, you can import a fresh snapshot at any time or analyze the snapshot data in Nerdio Compass.
