Nerdio Compass evaluates your existing environment's readiness to migrate to a Nerdio-managed Windows Cloud (Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or Windows 365) environment. This procedure guides you through the Migration Readiness assessment for the following assessment areas:

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) migration readiness

Windows 365 migration readiness
-
Windows 365 mapping (machine-to-SKU recommendations)
-
Remote Apps
-
Cloud Apps.
Before you begin, make sure you have access to Nerdio Compass with appropriate permissions and that you've either connected a Citrix environment or imported a snapshot to work with.

Navigate to Migration Readiness

In Nerdio Compass, navigate to Citrix > Migration Readiness to open the Migration Readiness assessment dashboard for Citrix environments.
Review the Azure Virtual Desktop Assessment
The Azure Virtual Desktop assessment gives an indication of readiness per delivery group, including (but not limited to) a readiness score, a readiness tier (High, Medium, or Low), and a rationale breakdown covering factors such as provisioning type, session model, Azure identity, access complexity, and zone health. Use this view to identify delivery groups that may need remediation before migration.

Select the Azure Virtual Desktop tab (this tab is selected by default when you open Migration Readiness).

Optionally, use the Delivery Group filter to narrow the results to a specific delivery group.
The table updates to show only the results for the selected delivery group.

Optionally, use the Tier filter to narrow the results to a specific readiness tier.
The table updates to show only delivery groups in the selected tier.

Review the readiness score, tier, and rationale for each delivery group to determine whether any action is needed before migration.
Review the Windows 365 Assessment
The Windows 365 assessment mirrors the Azure Virtual Desktop assessment, but evaluates readiness for Windows 365 migration instead. This view can also flag delivery groups as ineligible (for example, a multi-session Windows 11 catalog is not a candidate for Windows 365, which supports only single-session Cloud PCs).

Select the Windows 365 tab.
The Delivery Group and Tier filters reset.

Optionally, use the Delivery Group filter to narrow the Windows 365 assessment results to a specific delivery group.
The table updates to show only the results for the selected delivery group.

Optionally, use the Tier filter to narrow the results by readiness level.
The table updates to show only delivery groups in the selected tier.

Review the readiness score, tier, and rationale for each delivery group, noting any marked as not a candidate for Windows 365, to determine whether any action is needed.
Review Windows 365 Mapping Data
The Windows 365 Mapping tab shows machine-level detail behind the Windows 365 assessment: an indicative list of fields includes machine name, source catalog and delivery group, source vCPU and RAM specifications, source VM SKU, and the recommended Windows 365 SKU with its part number.

Select the Windows 365 Mapping tab to access the Windows 365 mapping assessment view, which displays SKU recommendations for machines being evaluated for Windows 365 migration.

Review the recommended SKUs for accuracy against your licensing and performance requirements.
Review RemoteApps and Cloud Apps Readiness
The RemoteApps & Cloud Apps tab lists published applications being evaluated for migration. An indicative list of fields includes published name, app name, delivery group, enabled/disabled status, executable path, and any launch arguments.

Select the RemoteApps & Cloud Apps tab to access the RemoteApps and Cloud Apps assessment view.
The Cloud Apps inventory loads.

Select Columns to customize which data fields are displayed in the Cloud Apps inventory table.

Review each application's status and delivery group assignment to determine whether any action is needed before migration.
Export the RemoteApps and Cloud Apps Assessment
You can export this assessment as a CSV file for reporting, or as a JSON file formatted for Nerdio Manager's RemoteApps import feature.
Note
The AVD RemoteApps JSON export lets you take the published applications Compass has detected in your Citrix environment and import them directly into an AVD RemoteApp host pool's application group in Nerdio Manager, rather than recreating each published application by hand.

Select Export CSV to export the RemoteApps and Cloud Apps assessment data to a CSV file.

Select Export to AVD RemoteApps JSON to export the assessment data to a JSON file formatted for import into an AVD RemoteApp host pool.

In the file save dialog, browse to a local directory, enter a filename, and confirm to save the file.
Results
You have reviewed infrastructure readiness across the Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 assessments, including readiness scores and migration rationale for each delivery group; you have also reviewed detailed Windows 365 SKU mapping recommendations and the RemoteApps and Cloud Apps inventory. As next steps, review the detailed rationale for any delivery groups with low readiness scores, address identified gaps in provisioning type, session model, or Azure services configuration, and confirm SKU recommendations are accurate before planning remediation activities and proceeding with migration execution.
